Our Story
A little background information about ShurLawn & Landscape: Colby and Dave, the co-owners of our operation, are an unlikely but balanced father-son duo. Colby received a Bachelor of Science in Turf and Landscape Management from the University of Nebraska. Dave pursued a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Psychology from Creighton University.
Their divergent educational backgrounds mean they not only understand their services on a practical level, but they can gauge what will make their customers happiest. Their love of people, plants, and outdoor lifestyles inspired them to start ShurLawn & Landscape over 25 years ago. They have also served their communities in the Omaha area in other ways since then.
Who We Are
When you get to know who we are, you might start to realize that our impact goes far beyond your and your neighbor’s yards. We believe a healthy, happy life begins long before you own property. Therefore, we give back to our community by donating to Youth Basketball and sponsoring local baseball teams.

ShurLawn & Landscape is a family-owned and operated business. Dave Bates, a certified arborist and landscaping enthusiast, has worked in the industry for over 30 years. His son Colby demonstrates that passion, creativity, and a love of the outdoors runs in the family. His business management and landscape design experience bring the services full circle.
